With two reversible nonstick plates, the Griddler Compact can be configured as a full grill, full griddle, or half-and-half. Use both grill sides for steaks and chops, both griddle sides for pancakes and eggs, or one of each for breakfast platters and bacon-and-egg combos. The top plate can also be lowered to make it a contact grill or panini press.
Preheat the Griddler Compact with the top plate flat and the temperature dial at medium. Place your sandwich on the lower plate, lower the top plate, and apply light pressure for 2–4 minutes, or until the bread is golden and the cheese melts. The nonstick plates release the sandwich easily, and the drip tray catches any melting cheese or running fillings.
Use Low for warming tortillas and delicate fruit; Medium for eggs, pancakes, and panini; Medium-High for chicken, vegetables, and fish; and High for searing steak and burgers. Because the thermostat is adjustable, you can dial in the exact heat you need and avoid scorching.
Turn the unit off, unplug it, and let it cool completely. Use the included cleaning/scraping tool to release any food residue, press the release tabs to lift out the plates, and switch them to the grill or griddle side you need. The plates click securely into place and are ready for the next cooking mode.

This compact griddler is perfect for my small apartment. It does everything: grill, griddle, and press. The nonstick plates work brilliantly. I've made pancakes, bacon, and even quesadillas. It heats up fast and cleans up in minutes. The only downside is the cord is a bit short. But for the price, it's a great buy.
