I bought this for searing steaks and it does a fabulous job. The tri-ply bottom heats evenly and retains heat well. The nonstick surface is indeed scratch resistant—I've used metal tongs with no marks. The size is great for large families. Cleanup is simple. The only issue is that it's heavy, but that's expected.
